Rs 2,546 crore allotted for education sector in Kerala | Key Points

Thiruvanthapuram: Kerala Finance Minister KN Balagopal has held apart a major portion of the state’s sources for schooling in his very first total-fledged funds presentation on Friday.

When the FM set apart Rs 2,546 crore earmarked for instruction sector, Rs346 crore was allocated for mid-working day meals in educational facilities by itself. A sum of Rs 7 crore was demarcated for establishing fundamental infrastructure in community colleges and Rs 140 crore for university uniforms.

Rs 15 crore was alloted for education and learning of specially-abled learners.

The higher schooling sector has been allocated Rs 200 crore. 5 universities in the condition will get 1,500 new hostel rooms in the following yr.

Rs 5 crore was held aside for the development of a Microbiology Centre of Excellence. 

Rs 15 crore has been allocated for investigation on graphene .

The finance minister also allocated Rs 350 crore for skill parks in the 14 districts.

Four science parks with state-of-the-art investigate services will be recognized and authorities will mobilise Rs 1,000 crore for the undertaking.

The minister also introduced Rs 1,000 crore for the advancement of IT parks.
