Rutland High School to implement cybersecurity curriculum

MACON, Ga. — Cybersecurity and personal computer science instruction is starting to be additional essential than at any time.

Now, Rutland Significant School’s Marine Junior ROTC will direct the demand in this field.

They’re joining a nationwide Marine JROTC cohort to carry out cybersecurity curriculum in future year’s software. It really is a partnership in between the Maritime Corps JROTC and “laptop or computer science for all.”

Rutland Large School’s Maritime JROTC program is a single of 5 colleges throughout the place now chosen for this cohort.

Alaia Anderson a growing Senior at Rutland higher is a portion of the “CyberPatriot” plan.

Anderson says she hopes getting a section of the crew will assist her get higher education scholarships.

“With cybersecurity everything is going digital. I want to be in the army. We have a disaster about oil, so I definitely wished to see how cybersecurity would have an impact on me. If I would like it or not. I ended up liking it so I stayed,” Anderson explained.

Keith Allen is the senior Maritime Teacher at Rutland and states these are required skills to understand.

Allen says staying selected for the cohort will support them greater teach the subject, and help students like rising Junior Joemarion Frye implement what they master to their upcoming.
