The Bison: Dakota Middle School mascot selected by Native American community within RPS – Post Bulletin

ROCHESTER — The mascot for the new Dakota Center Faculty will be The Bison, representing one more phase of the school district to figure out the community Indigenous American local community.

Officials announced the final decision Tuesday all through a School Board conference. Dakota Center College is set to open for the 1st time for the duration of the slide of 2022.

“In some cases, primarily with Indigenous American cultures, there has been sizeable misuse of mascots,” Ruzek claimed. “Some real education is the subsequent move.”
